Marissa von Wise is a stunning 5 year old well-bred German Shepherd. Marissa has a tragic story: she belonged to a man who never went anywhere -- he was a recluse; she never left their house and small garden. Marissa needed something to do, so her job became protecting her beloved owner. Sadly, her owner died unexpectedly at home. When animal control was asked to pick her up, it was a task trying to get her away from her owner. Fortunately, they could see past her protectiveness and understood her distress. When Marissa went to the Pasadena Humane Society, she passed her behavioral test with flying colors. However, as soon as Marissa befriends someone, we have learned she becomes very protective of that person. Marissa is the most amazing companion. She is housebroken and has good manners in the house. She would give up her life for you, but she needs a home with just one person. If guests come, she needs her safe place to go. We would work with anyone who felt they could provide the right home for Marissa. It breaks our hearts to see her so miserable in a kennel.
